In the project room, Theresa Ganz continues her investigation into the relationship between painting and photography, landscape and the sublime with three large new works. The photo collages introduce drama and color to a wry conceptual practice that in the past has privileged issues of perception and representation. Theresa Ganz was born in New York City in 1980. She earned her BA from Vassar College in Film and her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in Photography. She works in photo-based collage and installation and has shown her work nationally and internationally in group and solo shows. This is her third solo show at Steven Wolf Fine Arts. She divides her time between Providence, where she teaches in the Visual Art Department at Brown University, and New York where she is a director of Regina Rex, a curatorial collective.
